A tourist driver is facing two charges of careless driving causing injury after a head-on crash on the Glenorchy-Paradise Rd near Queenstown.
Queenstown Sergeant Keith Newell said the 45-year-old was allegedly driving his rental van round a bend on the wrong side of the road when it collided with an
oncoming car at 11.20am yesterday.
The driver of the car, a 45-year-old Queenstown man, suffered cuts and bruises.
One of the van's four occupants, a 15-year-old boy, was knocked out and taken to Lakes District Hospital.
The crash happened on an unsealed section of the road, Mr Newell said.
