Shame on Auckland Museum for getting rid of the historical street. It was a place for shared memories between generations. Bring it back.

While on holiday in Auckland and enjoying lunch at Esquires Coffee House Hobson St, my sister cut her finger when opening her new knife purchase. Immediately, the cafe assistant became a caring nurse, wiping up the blood and putting on a bandage. A big thank you from both of us for such care and concern.

When walking my dog at the Auckland Domain, I saw a couple helping themselves to the nuts off a tree, breaking them open with a hammer and collecting the nut into buckets. When I approached them, I got the "I don't speak English" standard line. Park staff investigated and said it was an ongoing problem in parks across Auckland. Imagine if everyone did this. Come on, let our trees in public areas do their natural thing without being stripped bare by greedy people lacking the community spirit that gifted us the central city parks in the first place.

The Rugby World Cup may not be held in our lovely country, but by golly ... our support for the boys overseas is just marvellous! Also the amount of support for all Pacific Island teams is stunning! Love seeing the vast array of flags! Keep it up NZ!

Thumbs down to those cheating drivers who effectively jump the queue by using the left side straight ahead-only lane then turn left from Taharoto Rd into Northcote Rd in front of those in the correct left slip lane. Some good revenue to be earned there if policed.

My car broke down on Stanley St. To make the matter worse I was towing a small trailer and blocking the right-hand turning lane going on to Parnell Rise. Thank you to all the drivers who stopped to see if I needed a push or a tow. I was impressed by my fellow Aucklanders. Proud to call this City home!

Investigations are underway at a Russell Cres address in Rotorua where two people were critically injured and believed to be linked to a woman's death at a separate address.
