I say good on you at Stonefields for complaining strongly enough to get the children's playground shut down. The squealing and screaming of kids is the worst noise imaginable and people deserve peace and quiet. We have the same problem in our street with a gang of small children who
play all day in the middle of the road squealing their heads off.

A big thank you to the staff on the 4.15pm Fullers Ferry from Half Moon Bay to Auckland on Friday. Because of a very low tide the ferry was delayed but Annie, Adele and Darren gave exceptional customer service by keeping passengers informed and making sure everyone was looked after. Well done to a bright and helpful crew.

The most annoying Sky Sport commentator during the Australian Open match between Djokovic and Verdasco would not stop talking, passing opinions and useless information during the match and rudely talking during play. Please shut up. You did the same at the ASB tennis, too. Learn from the silence of others.

We have just returned from 14 wonderful days touring the North Island. In that time we stayed at many hotels. We found the best for value, money and service was the Ventura Inn and Suites in Hamilton. The professional attitude of the staff, the friendliness, the cleanliness of the property, and value for money was amazing, a real home away from home.

To the cafe owners of Auckland, please spare a thought for the little ones who use your high-chairs. We rarely come across a high-chair which doesn't look filthy or isn't still caked in the previous occupant's food.
