Karen Aim memorial unveiled in Taupo

A memorial to murdered Scottish backpacker Karen Aim was unveiled on the shores of Lake Taupo yesterday.

The 26-year-old backpacker's parents and brother were presented with a painting of Ms Aim at the unveiling of the wooden seat.

Her father Brian said they needed to see for themselves where Karen died.

Jahche Broughton, 15, has admitted beating her to death in January last year.
