Crown prosecutors have applied for the case against people arrested in nationwide police raids in eastern Bay of Plenty to be heard in the High Court.
The 17 accused, who were arrested last year, face mainly firearms charges, which are due to be held in the District Court.
But the Crown made the application today for the case to be dealt with in the High Court, saying there were legal issues regarding evidence which could only be considered in that court.
Prosecutor Ross Burns told NZPA the case was adjourned at a brief callover in the High Court at Auckland today until March, when a two-day hearing will be held.
