The New Zealand Defence Force has deployed several personnel to take part in the world's largest international maritime exercise.
Exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) is held in Hawaii and involves 27 nations and more than 25,000 personnel. It began on June 30 and is expected to finish today.
Linton-based army medic corporal Liz Duxfield has been part of the deployment and said before her departure she expected to learn a lot from the experience.
"It is always interesting meeting people from other defence forces and seeing how they operate, what equipment they use and learning something new that you can take home and use to help you be better at your job."
The 28-year-old has been on several overseas exercises including Kiribati and the Soloman Islands.
