Fresh cupcakes have been on the menu for all at Hawke's Bay Hospital this week, a fundraiser for the hospital's chaplaincy service.
Reverend Barbara Walker who is the co-ordinating chaplain for the Hawke's Bay DHB service said this was the ninth year this fundraising activity had taken place to support the 24/7, seven day a week service.
Although it received some funding from the Ministry of Health, HBDHB, local trusts and individual donations, more was always needed, she said.
Throughout the week hospital staff as well as church and community groups and Hastings Girls High School students had brought in fresh baking, as well as members of the public.
Today is the last day of the fundraiser, with cupcakes for sale at the main entrance to the hospital.
