Alanis Morissette is usually not one to shock her Instagram followers.
But on Tuesday the Grammy winning singer did just that as she posted a naked photo of herself while underwater in a swimming pool, reports the Daily Mail.
The 42-year-old Jagged Little Pill hit maker was showing off her very pregnant belly while cupping her breasts.
The Canadian hit maker is expecting her second child with husband Mario 'Souleye' Treadway, who is also a musician. Their first child, a son, is named Ever. They wed in 2010.
In her caption the You Outta Know singer wrote: 'You have to be extra gentle around ladies because they are the most helpful people in the world 'cause they make persons.'
This was a quote from Ever, aged five, she explained.
When she announced her second pregnancy in April she posted an animated video and song that ends with the couple, along with their son, gazing at ultrasound images of their new addition.
'The story of my nuclear family in moving pictures, brings us up to this sweet moment,' she captioned the video.
'[The song was] written, recorded and produced in 6 hours on May 22, 2010 with Guy Sigsworth, on the sly, to surprise Souleye. Brendan Huza helped tell our story. May this song take on ever-deepening meaning as each year goes by.'
Alanis has been celebrating the 20 year anniversary of her monster hit album Jagged Little Pill.
A new four-disc collector's edition was released on October 30, 2015.
The edition included remastered audio of the original album plus an entire disc of 10 unreleased demos from the era, handpicked by Morissette from her archives, offering a deeper and more personal look at the classic album.
Also included is a previously unreleased concert from 1995 as well as 2005's Jagged Little Pill Acoustic.
Before Souleye, the star dated Ryan Reynolds, who is now married to Blake Lively.
They met at Drew Barrymore's birthday party in 2002, and the couple began dating soon after.
They announced their engagement in June 2004. In February 2007, representatives for Morissette and Reynolds announced they had mutually decided to end their engagement.
Morissette has stated that her album Flavors of Entanglement was created out of her grief after the break-up, saying that 'it was cathartic.'
