Russell Brand has fired back at social media users who have ridiculed his political rants using Blur's Parklife by re-recording the song himself.
The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star, who has positioned himself as a political and social commentator in recent months, has been mocked for his outlandish views and jargon-filled tirades in a viral campaign in which users hurled the word "PARKLIFE!" at the funnyman every time he posted a message on Twitter.

The drive, which is a reference to Blur's 1994 song, spread to other sites including Amazon, with users replacing reviews of his new book with the word, and a number of video memes emerged featuring footage of Brand's rants spliced together with the band's video.
Brand has now tackled his critics by filming his own version of the Parklife promo with Irish hip-hop comedy duo The Rubberbandits, changing the words to the song and adding his own convoluted messages about politics and social reform.
