The occupants of two vehicles linked to attacks on Christchurch sex workers have been tracked down and spoken to by police.
Police launched an appeal for help from the public after two separate assaults in central Christchurch on Friday night.
In the first incident, a 21-year-old woman was driven to Peacock St and assaulted about 10pm on Friday, police said.
Detective Sergeant Jeremy Gunn said the vehicle was described as a shiny red sedan, similar to a Holden Commodore with a spoiler on the boot.
The car was also described as having a dark coloured interior.
In the second incident, police said an 18-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by three occupants of a white van about 10.15pm on Friday.
The victim was able to get out of the van on the corner of Armagh St and Fitzgerald Ave between 10.30pm and 10.45pm.
Mr Gunn said she was driven around the central city while the assault occurred.
Today police thanked the members of the public who provided information in identifying the occupants of the red Holden Commodore and white van.
"Police have spoken to the occupants and investigations are ongoing," a short police statement said this afternoon.
"Due to the sensitive nature of the investigation no further comment will be made at this time."
