War crimes trial 'farce'

Charles Taylor, the former Liberian President, was excused from his war crimes tribunal after his British lawyer stormed out of the United Nations court, labelling it a farce.

The trial of the warlord on 11 counts of crimes against humanity, including charges of murder, rape and sexual slavery, has lasted more than two years and is finally reaching its conclusion.
