Motorists travelling along Takitimu Drive and the Route K toll road this month are being urged to drive with extra care and expect minor delays, as contractors carry out major pavement repair works.
Works will start on the State Highway 2 off ramp to Route K at 6am on Tuesday, December 9 and are expected to be finished by 7pm on Friday, December 12.
The hours of work will be from 6am to 7pm each day.
The NZ Transport Agency said Route K would remain open, however the off ramp exit point would be moved 300m north towards Bethlehem and the off ramp surface could be uneven at times.
Stop/go traffic management and a 50km/h speed restriction will be in place on that stretch of Route K and the neighbouring northbound sections of Tamatea Arikinui Drive (SH2) and Fifteenth Avenue.
The works are weather dependent and may be postponed a week if necessary.
