More than 30 teams start the Volleyball New Zealand club championships at Jubilee and Springvale Stadiums, today.
The men's division one looks to be an even contest, with North Harbour, Tauranga, Rebels and Playaz looking at defeating last year's champions South Auckland.
The women's division one is different story, with Satara Te
Puke Volleyball Club setting the benchmark for the competition, winning the women's title for the past eight years.
This year Satara Te Puke Volleyball will be looking at title No 9 - no team has ever managed this feat before.
Leading players for the club are Marnie Grant and Tamara King.
Key players for the tournament: South Auckland: Tofu Tamilo, Kevin Kelsall, Beneti Schwalger. Rebels: Fata Von Reiche, Lefu Leaupepe. Playaz: Haaiti Alatini, Massey Satiu. North Harbour: Grant Bindon, Craig Waller. Tauranga: Mike Akkeman, Jason Lochead, Kirk Pitman. Satara Te Puke: Marnie Grant, Tamara King. N.Z.I.S: Miki Kitora, Teina Boyd, Rebecca Toomaga. Massey: Susan Blundell, Rebecca Reidy, Anna Scarlett. Tauranga: Teina Savage.
