In today’s headlines with Chereè Kinnear, it’s one year since Yanfei Bao’s disappearance, SkyCity casino to close for five days and tough news for those on the job hunt.

A woman who died in a suspected homicide in Palmerston North yesterday is yet to be formally identified, police say.

Emergency services were told a person was seriously injured at a home in Featherston St, Roslyn, about 12.10am on Thursday, Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Deegan said.

“The victim received medical attention but died at the scene.

“This will be a shock to many in our city, however we do not believe there is a risk to the wider community.”

Detective Inspector Craig Sheridan said Central District Police CIB are continuing to work to piece together the circumstances leading up to the woman’s death.

“The deceased will be removed from the scene today and is yet to be formally identified with a post-mortem examination due to take place this afternoon,” Sheridan said.

Police investigators, along with forensic specialists and ESR scientists will remain on scene into the weekend conducting a scene examination.
