After Friday's $1 entry opening day, entry to the Whanganui East pool will be $4.50 for adults and $3.50 for children.

The summer season at Whanganui East pool has arrived, with the facility opening to the public on Friday.

In a Facebook post, Splash Centre said the pool would be open from 11am to 6pm, with $1 entry for December 19 only.

The Whanganui District Council operates Splash Centre and Whanganui East Pool.

This week, council aquatics manager Lucy Thompson said contractors had been repairing pipework and completing essential checks to ensure the pool could open safely.

“With schools finishing soon and some absolutely sweltering days already, we know people will enjoy having the pool open again soon,” she said.
