Students are welcomed to Whanganui at Paikaitore in 2014.

A toga party and a powhiri will help welcome students to UCOL in Whanganui this year.

The new tertiary year is set to begin this week and Orientation has a number of events aimed at both information and fun.

Orientation is run by UCOL and the Association of Students @ UCOL (AS@U).

It begins with a UCOL Whanganui student rep meeting on Monday.

A powhiri will be held on Tuesday at Pakaitore.

Highlights include a students vs staff competition day on Wednesday with a food race, tug of war and egg and spoon staircase race, a Market Day in the Atrium on Thursday and a togo party will be held on Friday night at the Savage Club, Drews Ave.
