I've been touched by an Angel with love. - From a song sung by Della Reese.
Life is sometimes a challenge. Sometimes we feel we have too many challenges. There is one thing I notice again and again as I move amongst people and places - and that is that when
we are struggling with something, or being challenged by something, an angel comes to be beside us, sometimes in the early hours of the morning, just to let us know they are there. Recently at the local hospital, a family member was admitted, and in the busyness of this medical unit there was another patient who took the time to see to my family member with cups of coffee and lots of chats throughout the night and day, helping an elderly lady feel much less alone. I know that we never need to look too far away to see angels in action, and more and more I see angels here as human, not afraid to speak up against things that are wrong, willing to stand up and be counted, to make changes in our world and make it a better place. A simple holding of a hand, or a cup of coffee, a drink of water, a message that shows we are thinking of them, a blessing.
I am reminded to always have time to sit with those with whom we encounter and take a moment to serve them, with a smile, a chat or giving something greater. Never be too busy, to both give and receive, for in your busyness you may miss this beautiful chance to hear these words - "My angel, my angel, I've been touched by an angel. When I look into your eyes, with my heart I see. You're a blessing from on high." Thank you Cherie. Arohanui.
