"The most beautiful rainbow is the one inside your soul." - Matshona Dhliwayo
Do you ever find yourself sitting quietly on a Sunday afternoon wondering what is happening in your inner world? I have. I find inside my mind many memories piled up. I find beliefs within beliefs. I noticed new
thoughts forming and lots of new thoughts following those ones. I may be physically sitting quietly, but my mind is busy. Being open to new teaching is helpful on this sunny Sunday afternoon as the second month of this year is nearly at an end.
This Sunday I was in a good mood. Wherever I looked I saw happy smiling faces and seemed to float through the day. Other days, for no apparent reason I fall into an emotional down time. I find doom and gloom all around me and feel as if my life is about to collapse. However, I'm finding out that I choose to be on a roller coaster; rising to heights, ascending one moment and descending the next, down within the deepest parts of my soul.
I am learning that the more love, compassion and acceptance I have for myself, the easier it is to have compassion, love and acceptance for others. Some say it is the law of attraction. Meaning whatever we are feeling and feeding into emotionally on the inside, is somehow always materialising into whatever we see, experience and physically attract in our outer world. The law of attraction is unavoidable. I notice that some of the things I dislike and cannot stand about others, is really reflecting some part inside me that I don't want to accept. So I am learning to take a closer look inside myself and see how I am doing with these parts of myself. Some wise person once said to me, if I am pointing the finger at things in someone else's life, to watch for my other fingers pointing back at me. It was great advice.
My Angels remind me that one of the things that we all benefit from doing is reaching deep inside to connect with the living, breathing part of our spiritual nature, that part of us that keeps us breathing, keeps our hearts beating. That living force that pulses within us.
I began with a quote from Matshona Dhliwayo - although born in Harare, Zimbabwe he is now a Canadian-based philosopher, entrepreneur and author of books such as The Little Book of Inspiration, 50 Lessons Every Wise Mother Teaches her son, 100 Lessons Every Great Man Wants You to Know, and The Little Book of Secrets to Happiness. I will finish with another of his quotes: "Your mind can see more than your eyes. Your heart can carry more than your hands. Your soul can go further than your feet." Have a great week. Arohanui.
