Three Shaman sticks

David Traub and his glass shaman sticks cast a mystical glow at his Glass Factory NZ which was open for the Whanganui Artists' Open Studios on the weekend, and again next weekend. "The pieces themselves were based on aboriginal toys I saw when I first visited Australia. They are an ancient connotation of a shaman, medicine man, but do not define any culture."
Mr Traub's work on display consists of platter forms, made from hot glass components which are cut, assembled fused and slumped media.
