Children who will be spending Easter Weekend in Whanganui Hospital will have a sweeter time of it thanks to students from St Anne's School in Wanganui East.
The school held a mufti day and each child took an egg to school to contribute to the basket and the school leaders delivered it to the hospital yesterday.
Maz Anderson-Corkin spent his recent birthday in hospital so the 11-year-old was cheered up to see a basket of easter eggs arrive at the children's ward.
Children's Ward staff said it was a really nice gesture by the school and the children who will be spending the Easter Weekend in hospital and the basket would be much appreciated.
Maz is due to be discharged today but said he was hoping he would get to take an egg home with him.
