"To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom." - Bertrand Russell
When I was young I imagined my whole future would be safe from harm, that I would be free from pain, and could have and find everything I dreamed of and desired. I also wanted a life that was exciting
and overflowing with new adventures every day. I never wanted to be bored and always wanted to be 'rich'. Like most of you I was told, if I tried really hard, I could conquer fear, have no doubts and especially no childish insecurities. But no-one has ever been able to tell me how to conquer my fears and anxieties. So I have asked my Angels and want to share their answer with you.
They have suggested that I have a new relationship with fear, snuggle up to it and relax with my fears. So I have begun asking myself, in a friendly sort of way, what is it that seems to turn my stomach a little and causes my heart to beat faster? What am I running from? Maybe I can turn my worries into wonders. So I look inside and underneath the scary feelings. I usually find it is something in my mind that I am scared of. It is what my mind imagines that is the scariest. We all imagine things greater than our knowledge. Our minds go on making up stories about everything and everyone, including ourselves. Just as our imaginations create lots of things, so we create fears, every terrifying heartbeat, every panic driven or life-freezing sensation we have ever had.
So here is a way forward I have found helpful. I imagine a solution to my fears, rather than getting stuck in my fear and wanting to run. My Angels tell me that approaching my fears and exploring them is magical and very empowering - and they are right. They are also right when they tell me that light casts out all darkness. So I let my inner light guide me out of the darkness.
