Whanganui boat users will be pleased to know that the recreational slipway at Wharf St will be in better shape and a lot more user-friendly, says Whanganui District Council spokeswoman Cass Alexander.

The slipway upgrade is part of the Whanganui Marine Precinct project, which is one of the projects in the Accelerate 25 initiative.

In August the Government committed $500,000 toward helping the Whanganui District Council develop a detailed blueprint to revitalise the precinct.

The work started on Monday and will finish next month.
