TRAFFIC was stalled on SH4 about 7km south of Raetihi yesterday afternoon when a slip blocked the main highway.
The slip happened just after 1pm on SH4, about 200m north of the Upper Mangawhero Bridge, commonly known as the Banana Bridge. The slip was cleared and the road reopened at 3.30pm.
However,
traffic authorities are advising motorists on the road to exercise extreme care.
