Selection grows at shop on quay

Carolyn Blanchard has been able to expand the range at her Bamboo on the Quay shop since extra space became available at the rear of the shop.

The photographer who was renting the space moved out and Ms Blanchard saw potential for expansion so she arranged to rent the extra space from building owner Marie McKay.

"I've been able to double my stock and add furniture like the papasan and hanging cane chairs as well as other furniture and lounge settings," she said.

Ms Blanchard previously was storing a lot of the cane ware at home.

"Cane ware is so bulky and takes up a lot of space so it is good to be able to display all the bigger pieces now."

Bamboo on The Quay also stocks personal accessories, such as scarves and bags, so it can be a one-stop-shop for people wanting to dress up themselves and their homes.

Throughout August, Ms Blanchard is offering her customers the chance to win a $50 voucher.

"Anyone who makes a purchase is eligible to win and I make a draw every Friday."

Bamboo on the Quay, 35 Taupo Quay is open seven days, from 9.30-4pm Monday to Friday, 9am-3pm Saturdays and 10am-2pm on Sunday.
