Lyric Singers end of year show

Lyric Singers' end of year concert Lift Your Voices, on Saturday November 24, will feature teenage violinist Xavier Gregory as a guest artist.

Xavier began playing the violin at a young age and enjoys busking to supplement the funds he requires to become a pilot. For the past couple of months, Xavier has been studying hard for his Cambridge exams. For this concert, Xavier will play the gorgeous Ashokan Farewell, by Jay Ungar. He will be accompanied on the piano by Lisa Boessenkool.

Lisa has accompanied the choir for the past eight years. She started learning piano at age six and the flute at nine.
Combining her love of music and passion for working with children, Lisa teaches piano and flute privately, coaching chamber music groups and co-conducting the Schola Sacra Youth Chorus.

Other guest artists for the concert will be the skiffle/pop band Hot Potato as well as Marie Brooks and Rosie Rendell singing the vocal duet Nella Fantasia. Rosie will also sing a solo. Artist brackets will be interspersed by the choir singing a selection of music from their repertoire. This is a charity concert, raising funds for Women's Refuge.
