President of NZ
An Open letter to the President, Peak Engineering & Design, PLLC Apex, North Carolina.
Dear Sir, with reference to the saga of the (not-quite Peak Engineering Logo) flag which has raised considerable interest in New Zealand. Although this design did not make it to the final four designs
for the referendum due shortly, such was the outcry from the People that the government was forced to rethink its position. The debate in Parliament was long and loud (longer and louder than the debate over the plight of the Syrian refugees!)
Finally, the Government conceded and the (not-quite Peak Engineering Logo) flag will be included in the vote. Hurrah for the People. However, all the polls indicate that the vast majority of the People actually do not want to change flag of New Zealand. They really like the New Zealand flag to be confused with that of Australia. Somewhere in the past a flag designer has lot to answer for!
!In the unlikely event of a new flag being chosen it would appear that the (not-quite Peak Engineering Logo) flag would be proudly hoisted on all the flagpoles in the land! It occurred to us that if this was the case then perhaps it would be time to change the Monarch. At the moment our Monarch is a sweet old lady who lives in a quaint house on a small island off the coast of Europe. You, being a President, would seem to be an ideal candidate for the position.
As the post is a Constitutional Monarchy you would be required to do absolutely nothing, say absolutely nothing and generally keep away from New Zealand.
Of course, you would need to have knowledge of your new realm so we will arrange for a couple of premium class economy seats (we would have normally offered first class but the politicians spent all our money on the flag referendum) on Air New Zealand. That's the one with the black jetliners! If you were to come in the winter you could go skiing in Queenstown or, in the summer, perhaps boating in the Bay of Islands.
Please give this matter some thought as we rather feel that King Jeffry the First of New Zealand has a certain ring to it!
Signed, Some of the people of New Zealand.
