Waking up to find an insulation team, photographers, council workers and the Mayor on his doorstep was not quite what tenant Kyle Froggatt had planned for his morning, but insulation for his chilly flat was more than welcome.
"I had no idea any of this was happening, but it will
be great for me and my flatmates. It gets pretty cold here in winter."
The Victoria Avenue flat became the first to receive insulation under the council's new Warm Up Palmy scheme, detailed in last week's Guardian, meaning the newfunding plan is officially putting the heat on uninsulated homes.
Being in the property business himself, Mr Froggatt understood the importance of such a scheme in Palmerston North.
"It's good to know about, so many of the homes I go to could use this sort of thing."
