Eight into ten does go ... especially if you are Martie and Andre van Schalkwyk.
But after eight busy but enjoyable years at Aramoho's popular Top 10 Holiday Park, the couple reckon they deserve a holiday.
They have put the four-star complex on the market.
Martie reckons would-be buyers will have to beblessed with three major attributes - handyman skills (Andre is a civil engineer), expertise in administration ("you wouldn't believe how much there is") and, of course, customer service goes a long way, too.
On top of that they can forget any thoughts of sun-baked sojourns abroad. Holidays anywhere, actually.
The couple have found that out since migrating from Namibia in 2002 after holidaying in New Zealand.
"We were looking around for something to do and there were a few Top 10 parks on the market. So we decided to give it a go and ended up in Wanganui."
The park wasn't in pristine condition, but the van Schalkwyks soon put that right.
In the following years they have made a number of additions, including the bouncy pillow - "great for the kids and adults" - as well as a number of five-star motel units.
Martie said meeting new people was always a thrill.
"There are the grumpy ones who want everything, but mostly the guests are just happily enjoying their holidays.
"We always have the young rowers to stay. They are a fun crowd, and the NZ Idol judge Frankie Stevens came once."
The van Schalkwyks expect to be still running the park during summer, but are keen to move on to a new challenge, whether it be in Wanganui or elsewhere. There is also their kids' education to consider.
But what they want first and foremost is an overdue holiday, one where they, rather others, can enjoy.
