There will be food-a-plenty at the Raetihi community Christmas dinner thanks, in part, to the Raetihi Cosmopolitan Club.
A $400 hamper was handed over to Raetihi community Christmas dinner organiser Angel Reid on Tuesday evening on behalf of the club and Maree Pitts.
Immediate past president Peter Pitts said the
hamper included chicken, chocolate and fruit which would be used to create the massive lunch.
Mr Pitts said money had been raised through various avenues . He said it was a worthy cause for the club to donate to and acknowledged the work of Ms Reid who is in her 14th year organising the dinner. "They get donations from a lot of other people to. The dinner they put on, it's not just for those who can't afford it, it's for anyone," Mr Pitts said. Last year 190 turned up, he said.
Mrs Pitts also contributed a sauce and pickle hamper to the Christmas dinner along with donations from New World.
