A driver who shunted another car into a power pole will attend a restorative justice conference with her victims.

Tania Sheree Bly was driving alone on Somme Pde in breach of her learner licence on May 14, police prosecutor Sergeant Stephen Butler said.

Bly, 24, did not see the victims' car ahead of her. It was indicating and pulling over to the side of the road.

Bly drove into the back of the car "causing it to crash into a power pole on the left side of the road", Mr Butler told the Whanganui District Court.

One victim received tendon damage while the other victim suffered a sore arm. Their car was written off.

Reparation is sought for one victim's physio appointment, which cost $57, and the car, which has an estimated value of $2500.

The power pole damage cost about $10,000, but the recovery of the cost could be pursued civilly, Judge David Cameron said.

Bly pleaded guilty to careless driving.
Judge Cameron referred the matter to Restorative Justice and remanded Bly to July 12 for sentencing.
