The Ministry of Health reported 116 new community cases of Covid-19 in the Whanganui region. Photo / Bevan Conley

The Whanganui region has 116 new community cases of Covid-19, the Ministry of Health reported today.

Nine people were in Whanganui Hospital with the virus.

Nationally, the ministry reported 33 Covid-related deaths.

There were 7113 new community cases of Covid-19 recorded nationally.

Across the country, 738 people were in the hospital with the virus, 15 of whom were in intensive care.
