The Whanganui District Health Board confirmed five new Covid-19 cases within its boundaries on Thursday.

Four of the new cases are located in central Whanganui and are linked to an event in Manaia, while one is in Marton. That has been linked to the initial Marton cluster.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Whanganui DHB region is 26 active cases and one recovered case.

All cases are isolating at home and are being supported by the DHB.
