The Ministry of Health reported 62 new community cases of Covid-19 in the Whanganui region. Photo / Bevan Conley

The Whanganui region recorded 62 new community cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, according to the Ministry of Health.

The ministry also reported five people were in Whanganui Hospital with Covid-19.

Nationally, the ministry reported 4990 new community cases of Covid-19.

Of those cases, 379 people were reported as being hospitalised, according to the ministry.

The ministry also reported the deaths of 10 people with Covid-19 this Sunday.
