Charges defended

A MARTON man is defending five charges brought by the Ministry of Health alleging he was practising as a health professional when he wasn't qualified to do so.
On June 5, 22 and 28, 2007, it was alleged that Neil Douglas Pemberton was practising as an unregistered osteopath.
A Ministry of Health investigator said Mr Pemberton, as an unregistered osteopath, had carried out high-velocity, manipulative techniques to cervical spinal joints on two patients.
Mr Pemberton is defending the charges at a hearing in the Marton District Court on August 8.
