Vintage cars - some with a century of history - gathered at the Commercial Hotel on Sunday to celebrate more than 105 years of Whanganui motoring history.
Whanganui's AA club recreated the first road run that took place at the same spot in 1911.
More than 20 cars, spanningthe years 1906 to 1931, attended the event, with their owners dressed in clothes that matched the period of that first road.
Tom Clouston provided a 1908 Holsman and a French 1906 Darracq, the oldest of the cars.
"I got it in 1957, so I've had it for 55 years but it is only in the last three years I've managed to get it running," he said.
