91.2 BRIAN FM increases radio signal across Wanganui region, and adds new frequency 93.2fm covering Taihape & Waiouru.
On Friday, September 4, Brian FM - a privately owned independent radio station - completed the installation and testing of a new state of the art transmitter system that greatly increases the station's coverage across Wanganui and the surrounding region.
Brian FM has been "Playing What We Feel Like, All Day Every Day" across central Wanganui for the past year. After great sponsor support and strong listener demand, the station has invested in a new transmitter system. While still "broadcasting from a crappy little building in the middle of beautiful downtown Springvale", Brian FM now has its main transmitter and backup systems based upon one of the highest points overlooking Wanganui.
Brian FM said, "We apologise for making it easier to pick us up."
Coverage emails and facebook messages are flowing in already from Waverley, the edges of Marton and Aberfeldy - all reporting the station can now be easily heard in these areas, plus numerous comments from listeners now able to get Brian FM in the areas previously not able to pick up the signal in city areas like Castlecliff and Westmere.
Brian is not one of those normal radio stations.
Targeting any listener with good music taste, Brian FM is different to any traditional radio station you might be used to and lives by four very simple rules...
1) Brian FM is playing what WE feel like, but you get to listen.
2) Brian FM is commercial free.
3) It has no djs - they get in the way of the music.
4) Brian FM has no requests - remember rule 1 "playing what WE feel like".
"Think of us as invading all the homes around Wanganui at once, with a station that's unlike anything offered on the radio dial.
"Brian FM is 100 per cent commercial free, plays what we feel like, has no DJs and takes no requests," says the Brian FM spokesperson.
Upon commenting about the new Wanganui transmitters and increased coverage across the region Brian FM said, "This is another step in our growth... but it's not the end of our plans."
At the same time as increasing the Wanganui radio coverage, Brian FM has activated a large transmitter in Taihape on 93.2fm, covering Taihape, Mangaweka, Ohingaiti, Utiku and up to Waiouru.
"Just when you thought it was safe to get away from Brian FM, we invade Taihape and Waiouru too".
