Marton police are looking for a man who broke into the Hawkestone Golf Club carrying an axe.
A caucasian man was caught on security camera entering the golf course clubrooms on Kakariki Rd through the front door on September 18 about 7.24pm.
The man can be seen to walk into
the clubrooms and straight to a box secured to the wall. The box usually contains green fees but money is not kept in the clubrooms overnight.
On finding the box empty, he walks out of the building.
The man is described as in his early 20s, slim, wearing jeans and a light-coloured hoodie under a jacket.
