Exhibitors from around the country poured their minds, bodies and souls into the Healthy Body & Soul expo over the weekend.
Expo director Glen Beard says the event is a chance for people to look into themselves and into healthy options for lifestyle.
"It's a nice time to relax and meet with
like-minded people. There's a nice spiritual base in Wanganui," she said.
Mrs Beard and her husband Kevin, based in Taranaki, try and bring the expo back to Wanganui at least once a year and are currently going around the North Island.
A range of ages from children, right through to the elderly attended the expo on Saturday and Sunday, Mrs Beard said.
Miss Virginia Reynolds, an exhibitor involved, is new to the expo circuit and says everyone on it is "like a family" to her.
Miss Reynolds was made redundant recently, and has taken to the circuit as a less stressful, alternative means of employment.
"It's not just about selling books. It's about meeting, greeting, laughing. Part of healing is in laughter," she said.
Miss Reynolds says that in a recession people are looking for an alternative way.
"Pre-loved is fantastic. My motto is: be kind, recycle," she said.
Miss Reynolds' section at the expo included a range of second-hand books and crystals.
She says Wanganui is "quite a spiritual place" and that the people are friendly, too.
