Whanganui District Library's new members will soon be able to choose a design for their library card.
Four winners have been selected following the library's competition to design a library card, library performance manager Sonny Tamihana said.
"We had well over 50 entries and were amazed by the talent of the Whanganui community," Mr Tamihana said.
"The categories were reading, preserving memory and connecting people. We allowed the participants to interpret that as they wished. We had entries from a range of ages but most were under-12s."
The competition winners were Maia Kaua (river patterned design), Glenn Armitage (global reading design), Olivia Bedwell (silver globe design) and Amy Mauchline (kiwi design). It was originally intended to have three designs for the library cards but the judges were unable to separate the entries so it was decided to award four prizes.
