A group of Whanganui people are taking scrap metal and turning it into sports equipment for local schools.
They call themselves the Grumpy Old Men Enterprises, and they're a group of Rotary Club and Vintage Car Club members who decided to raise money for schools.
"Most of us are old - we range in age from 55 to 92 years old," spokesman Ed Boyd said.
The group will re-purpose any kind of old metal and sell it for scrap.
"We pull to bits anything like old computers, motor mowers, old desks with metal legs. The metals get separated out, and obviously it's great if we can get anything like copper or brass," Mr Boyd said.
