Police yesterday continued their Whanganui River search for clues about Whetu Hansen's disappearance.
The search was likely to continue for at least the next 48 hours, they said.
Police began searching about half an hour up the river on Friday with assistance from the National Dive Squad, but yesterday were searching in Aramoho.
The situation was reviewed on Sunday and it was decided the search would continue. Yesterday the party included police and Navy personal using sonar equipment.
A homicide investigation was launched last December after Mr Hansen disappeared. A man, who has name suppression, has been charged with his murder.
