Two women reported missing from a bush track near Ngāruawāhia have been found, police say.

Maria, 29, and Rumetati, 28, hadn’t been seen since entering the Hākarimata Summit Track at 4.30pm yesterday.

The pair were found safe and well this morning, a police spokesman said just after 8am.

“Police thank the public for their assistance.”
