He had said the two old women shot at him as he sped away on Te Rapa Rd while travelling toward Ngaruawahia.
Pink, who was sporting and eye-patch earlier this week, has been vocal in his claims to have cleared Ngaruawahia of 14 meth houses and told Fairfax his injuries were a backlash to running P dealers out of town.
However there was no record of Pink being hospitalised at Waikato Hospital for an eye injury and a police spokesman said no complaint had been laid with them in relation to the alleged shooting of the vehicle they had examined.
When asked if Pink had been arrested, police said a 45-year-old man had been charged with unlawful possession of firearms.
The man will appear in Hamilton District Court next week.
Police said they could not comment further now the matter was before the courts.
Pink could not be reached for comment.
