State Highway 39 in Waikato closed after three-vehicle crash

One person has died in a crash on State Highway 39 in Waikato.

Police said emergency services were called to the three-vehicle crash near Ngāhinapōuri about 2.20am.

Two other people were moderately injured.

SH39 is closed while the scene is cleared and a Serious Crash Unit examines the site, a spokesperson said.

Diversions are in place, motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.

Te Poi crash victim dies in hospital

One person has died after a crash on State Highway 29 in Te Poi, near Matamata, on January 28, police say.

The person had critical injuries after the single vehicle crash and died in hospital last night. The crash is being investigated.
