One person has died following a crash on State Highway 2 near Mangatāwhiri.

Emergency services were called to the crash involving a truck and a car just after 11am on Tuesday.

The highway was closed between Rawiri Rd and Kopuku Rd for several hours, reopening about 8.30pm.
