Police are looking for a man who tried to get a teenage girl into his vehicle with him today.

The light blue coloured saloon car was parked in Aberdeen Drive, Dinsdale area of Hamilton at about 7.50am this morning.

A man from the vehicle allegedly approached a teenage girl walking to school and attempted to get her into the vehicle with him.

The girl was unharmed but Detective Rene Rakete of Hamilton CIB said the man's behaviour is concerning.

"Parents and students alike should be vigilant and report any unusual behaviour directly to police.

"This includes any incidences of young people being offered a ride by unknown individuals.

"The girl made her way to her school straight after the incident and immediately reported the matter."

Anyone who has any information should contact Detective Rakete at the Hamilton Police Station on 07 858 6200 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
