Police in Hamilton are hunting three males involved in an armed robbery this morning

Police are hunting three males involved in an armed robbery at a Hamilton superette this morning.

The offenders - two armed with firearms - were captured on CCTV cameras going into the Ezi Park Supermarket, on Greenwood St, about 9.15am.

They made off with cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash before getting into their getaway car - a white Subaru Legacy, with the registration: EFF642.

Police are calling on anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the area at the time to come forward.

"Anyone with information relevant to the investigation is asked to contact Hamilton Police on (07) 858 6200,'' a statement said.

Security footage shows two offenders wearing black clothing and their heads covered in dark balaclavas or hoods. They are also wearing baby blue gloves.

The third wears an army-green camouflage-styled jacket and light grey Nike shoes.
