In the second week of the championship round of premier indoor netball there was a clash of the top two teams in the competition.
Following a very tight game and draw a couple of weeks ago this game had a lot of spectator interest.
Marist Verdettes Old Girls started well to have a slim two-goal lead at the end of first quarter and extended this in the second quarter to lead by six goals at half time with the score being 34 goals to 28.
Uni Premier came back strongly in the third quarter to narrow the gap to be within two goals.
Overall a great spectator game with some awesome netball on display.
For Marist Verdettes Old Girls it was a great team performance.
Shooters Else Brown at goal shoot and Monica Falkner at goal attack were confident and strong.
For Uni Premier it was a good game against quality opposition.
At times Uni used ball speed and triangles well but overall were not able to treasure the ball making basic errors.

St Peters Cambridge Open A came away with a win over Fraser Tech Netball CentrePremier Reserves which they were very happy with.
They had a two-goal lead at the end of the first quarter and the second quarter was drawn.The score was 24 goals to 22 at half time.
In the third quarter St Peters Cambridge Open A drew slightly ahead to lead by four at three quarter time and won the final quarter by a goal.The final score was 41 goals to 36.
For St Peters Cambridge Annalies Kalma at wing attack and Kataraina Ormsby at centre were solid in attack and Sade Kaipara-Morrison at goal attack had a high work rate throughout.
For FTNC Premier Reserve Anna Biladi at goal defence in the second half provided tight circle defence taking up front space and assisting with driving the ball through court on attack. Overall a strongly contested match.
The other Marist Verdettes team, Premier, also came away with a win which will boost their confidence in what was another closely contested match.
Against Waikato Diocesan Open A they started very well to have a 10-goal lead at the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter they won by a goal to have the score 28 goals to 17 at half time.
Waikato Diocesan Open A after the break came back with a vengeance and they were able to narrow the gap to be within six goals.
Marist Verdettes Premier finished like they had started and won the game 48 goals to 38.
Captain Deyna Tukere led by example at goal defence and Pou Ruri-Clarke at goal shoot finished off with some outstanding shooting at the other end of the court.
For Waikato Diocesan Mackenzie Foster at goal keep was a standout.
FTNC Premier were completely dominant in their game against Nottingham Castle Rangers and they led from start to finish winning every quarter.
The half time score was 36 goals to 16 and the fulltime score was 77 goals to 36. This allowed both teams to try a variety of combinations. For FTNC Premier both ends of the court performed with precision with some fast mid court play.
For Nottingham Castle Rangers their decision making on attack let them down at times.
Catherine Fraser-Jones at centre had a solid game and got some good defensive ball as did Tegan Broomfield who moved from goal keep to goal defence.
Broomfield did well against experienced and talented opposition.
