Morrinsville water crisis: Supply back on tonight, hopefully

It's hoped the water will be back on Morrinsville, in Waikato, tonight.

Matamata Piako District Council have uncovered what it thinks is the source of a leak that's affecting the water supply in the town.

Spokesman Eon Scott said workers are busily trying to repair it.

He says fittings may be needed to repair the hole, which is in the junction of a pipe near the treatment plant.

Scott is hopeful water will be back on by this evening with a bit of luck, assuming this is the leak.

There are now nine water tankers around Morrinsville, where people can fill up bottles and containers.
