A Coromandel father and grandfather has died after an incident involving a commercial mower.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Te Kouma Rd in Te Kouma about midday.
A police spokesperson said the person died despite the best efforts of staff and the public.
A Thames-CoromandelDistrict Council spokesperson said the victim worked for a council contractor and was a well-known father and grandfather with strong links to the council and local communities.
